Q1. Taxes and roads. What tax increase will you support for the 2027 budget, as a percentage, and roughly how much should the City spend on road repair each year?
Q2. Housing and homelessness. How many new homes a year should North Bay approve by 2030? What one thing should the City itself do about homelessness and addiction, and what measure would you use to judge whether it's working?
Q3. Growth, doctors and immigration. How would you use the federal rural immigration program and other tools to recruit doctors and skilled workers, broaden our economy and help people out of poverty? Name one concrete step.
Q4. Electrification, AI and data centres. Name one electrification project you'd fund in your first two years (for example chargers at City lots, electric buses or fleet vehicles) and what it would cost or save. Would you try to attract an AI data centre to North Bay, and what conditions would you set on its power use, Trout Lake water and land?
Q5. Water and PFAS. PFAS from old firefighting foam has reached Trout Lake, our drinking water source, and federal money is currently paying for the cleanup and a treatment pilot. If the water plant needs a permanent upgrade, how will you keep that bill off local taxpayers? Will you commit to publishing PFAS test results in plain language?
Q6. Transparency and strong mayor powers. Will you commit to recorded votes on every item, fewer closed-door sessions, and City budget and council data published online in open formats? Should a mayor use strong mayor powers, and if so, which ones?
